Maurice Beghetti

Maurice Beghetti, MD, heads the Paediatric Cardiology Unit at the University Hospital of Geneva and is the director of the pulmonary hypertension program of the University Hospital of Geneva.

He is the director of the Centre Universitaire Romand de Cardiologie et Chirurgie Cardiaque Pédiatrique grouping Geneva and Lausanne. Professor Beghetti has spent most of his professional career in Geneva, with a three-year fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.

He is a member of the Executive Board of the Association for Paediatric Pulmonary Hypertension, which has generated the TOPP Registry (for Tracking Outcomes and Practice in Paediatric PH). He is a member of the task force pediatric pulmonary hypertension of the 5 and 6th and the planned 2024 7th World symposium on pulmonary hypertension.

He was member of the ESC/ERS guidelines on pulmonary hypertension in 2009, 2015 and 2022.  He is a member of the editorial board of Cardiology in the Young andhas authored more than 300 publications, book chapters and books on pulmonary hypertension.

Professor Beghetti’s research interests are focused on PH and congenital heart defects in paediatric patients.
