Cailyn Rood

Cailyn Rood is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Cardiology at Harvard Medical School and Staff Physician in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children’s Hospital.

She completed her pediatric critical care fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children’s Hospital in June 2020 and an advanced fellowship in cardiac critical care at the Medical College of Wisconsin/Children’s Wisconsin in June 2021.

Her academic interests are resuscitation science and systems improvement and design, including cardiac arrest prevention.
Her primary scholarly activity describes communication during extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR) events and physiologic response to open- vs. closed-chest CPR, and her on-going quality improvement work centers on resuscitation in the CICU.
